Your Own Homes Improvement Outline
(One for the Ladies)
Let me start by saying what a home improvement plan will not do! I have seen this happen more than once, therefore I’ll say this now. A home improvement project, addition, upgrade, remodel, or makeover won’t compensate for a troubled marriage. So for those that think home improvement may save a marriage, I am telling you now that it will add more tension and it is a poor replacement for good counseling.
With that said, when you find a home being sold due to a divorce, have a fantastic look in the house because you may see evidence of a great remodel job. On the other hand, the union still failed. The scenario above leads into other areas of a home remodel, acquisition, and selling things. Gentlemen, listen here! It is usually recognized that women are responsible for 80% of all decisions on whether to buy a specific home.
So what influences the women in their conclusions regarding home purchases and remodeling? By far the two biggest items are the kitchen and the bath. When I had to choose one or the other, I believe I would consider which area needed the remodel more, while at the same time taking a look at the costs of the two options.
As for the guys, what do they want? They would be pleased with a large garage/workshop and a secluded den or office to continue with the business or to retreat to the privacy of a”cave.” Guys, as we can see, really don’t spend too long feathering the nest so as a consequence, we notice that contrary to popular belief, guys actually tend to stick to the female’s lead.
Let us look at the kitchen first. Would you paint or paint the cabinetry and change the knobs and handles to find a new look? Can new Formica laminate over the old countertops with a matching backsplash do just fine? Maybe a white ceramic sink with a new faucet will achieve the desired result. Quite possibly you may choose to rip it all out. If this is true, then paint the walls and think about tiling the floor too. Frequently, adding some minor electrical and lighting upgrades will help transform and modernize the whole effort. Don’t overlook that the new built-in dishwasher and pipes too.
Custom cabinets, if designed, assembled, and installed by a local reliable cabinetmaker with references and a picture book of prior work done, are often very attractive in quality and price. I utilize craftsmen with low overhead working on one job at one time. Often I will ask them to make, in addition to the kitchen, a base cabinet for the bathroom to match, all for one low price. When working with kitchens I always look to see if a wall can be opened to make a pass-through or pub stool countertop. This lets in more light and allows the individual in the kitchen to talk with and see that the folks in the adjoining room. It also creates the effect of a more spacious kitchen.
Generally speaking, you are going to find that men do not pay much attention to draperies, window treatments, flower boxes, state of the art appliances, Jacuzzi baths, well-lit baths, large cabinets, or floral patterns of any type. They frequently prefer brown and gray everything, with a large garage, a shed, a sprinkler system, and a privacy fenced back yard for barbeques and lounging privately. Men also like low-maintenance homes so they aren’t constantly being asked to fix or mend things. If left up to the guys to decide, you’d find that showers, bathrooms, sinks, baths, floors, mirrors, cabinetry, appliances, and furnishings would often be favored by their industrial strength attributes instead of beauty.
Those are general observations and lots of times they won’t apply. However, by keeping them in mind and using the 80/20 rule, they might help in the decision-making procedure. So now using what we know, it would be sensible to slant your remodel to the bright and light female side of life. It appears to make sense that when the girls are the decision-makers then we ought to let them decide on what really needs attention first! You can check them out here on this website the other way of improving the home.
The bottom line is that a well-it bright light, bright and spacious kitchen, well equipped with modern appliances, lots of storage room, and ornamental tiles, paint, and window treatments, will add value and appeal to any home’s remodel plan.
